Bringing Different Healing Traditions Together for the Patient

Healing is not always a straight line, and recovery is more than treating an injury or performing an operation.

Modern medicine gives us powerful tools for diagnosis, surgery, rehabilitation and disease management. At the same time, traditional healing systems have developed their own approaches to movement, recovery, wellbeing and the relationship between the body and mind.

I believe that, when used thoughtfully and appropriately, different medical perspectives can sometimes work together for the benefit of the patient.

Working Together

In selected patients, I work collaboratively with Ayurvedic doctors and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners as part of an individual's broader recovery plan.

This does not mean replacing evidence-based orthopaedic treatment. Rather, it means considering complementary approaches alongside conventional care when they may be appropriate and when they can safely contribute to the patient's comfort, function and overall wellbeing.

The patient's condition, preferences, safety and goals remain at the center of every decision.

An Individualized Approach

Every patient is different. Some may benefit from a conventional medical or surgical approach alone. Others may benefit from incorporating complementary therapies such as acupuncture, Ayurveda, yoga, therapeutic movement or other supportive practices into their rehabilitation and recovery.

Where appropriate, I collaborate with practitioners from these disciplines so that the different aspects of care can be coordinated rather than practiced in isolation.

The Whole Person, Not Just the Injury

Pain, movement, strength, sleep, stress, confidence and overall wellbeing can all influence recovery.

My approach is therefore to look beyond the X-ray or MRI and understand the person who is experiencing the problem.

Integrative care is about bringing appropriate knowledge and experience together—not about choosing one system over another.

My Philosophy

Different paths can sometimes lead toward the same goal: healing and wellbeing.

I believe medicine should remain open to knowledge, experience and thoughtful collaboration while maintaining scientific responsibility and patient safety.

Modern medicine provides the foundation.
Traditional wisdom may provide additional perspectives.
Collaboration can sometimes make the journey of recovery more complete.

Ultimately, the question is simple:

What can we do, together, that is genuinely in the best interest of the patient?
