Knee Care
Knee Care

Preserve, Repair, Replace.

The knee is one of the most complex and important joints in the human body. It allows us to walk, run, climb, work, play and remain independent. When the knee hurts, becomes unstable or loses movement, it can affect much more than just the joint—it can affect your entire life.

As a Knee, Sports & Joints Surgeon, my approach to knee care begins with understanding the individual behind the knee problem.

I believe that not every knee problem requires surgery. The right treatment starts with an accurate diagnosis, an understanding of your lifestyle and expectations, and a careful assessment of what can be preserved and restored.

My approach to knee care

Diagnose before treating
Knee pain can arise from the meniscus, cartilage, ligaments, muscles, tendons, kneecap or the joint itself. A detailed clinical assessment, combined with appropriate imaging and investigations when necessary, helps identify the real source of the problem.

Preserve whenever possible
The natural knee is valuable. Whenever appropriate, I focus on preserving the patient's own cartilage, meniscus, ligaments and joint function rather than proceeding unnecessarily to major surgery or joint replacement.

Treat the whole knee—and the whole person
Treatment may include exercise and rehabilitation, physiotherapy, medication, injections, lifestyle modification and other supportive approaches. Where appropriate, I also integrate selected principles of traditional and complementary medicine with modern evidence-based care.

Surgery when it is needed
When surgery offers the best opportunity for recovery, I use contemporary surgical techniques appropriate to the patient's condition—including ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery, cartilage procedures and knee replacement.

Rehabilitation is part of treatment
Surgery or other treatment is only one part of recovery. Restoring strength, movement, balance, confidence and function is equally important. I work closely with rehabilitation professionals to help patients return safely to their everyday activities and sports.

My philosophy

The goal of knee care is not simply to remove pain.
It is to restore movement, preserve function and help you return to life.

Every knee is different. Every patient has different needs, expectations and goals.

My role is to combine medical knowledge, surgical experience, rehabilitation and a human understanding of the patient to find the most appropriate path forward.

Preserve what can be preserved.
Repair what can be repaired.
Replace only when necessary.
And always treat the person, not just the knee.
